Peter Reno Lyrics

She's on the edge of a thousand miles from home
They never understood what anybody couldve known
The person she is in this moment
Standing alone with the sun in her eyes and decay in her bone
and there might be a voice there telling her not to take that next step
There might be soft lighting silhouetting a bed to rest in
And rose petal decaying
Someone tell her it's going to be okay
But she barely sees it, considering the state of the world she lives
Looks like dissonance
 not a perfect fifth
It's absurd how shit it is for her
I tell you, the poor soul
Don't deserve this
But she got stronger from the worst that would probably destroy a weaker specimen
On the weekends she was weeping
Wishing for a moment that was at least decent or redeeming
A deviation from a so called norm
She born this way and won't go on home
She's got no home at any house in the world
Found no love from any heart in the world
With open eyes find only dark in the earth
Feeling like a carcass for the vultures
She embarks to two thousand mile marker
You would wonder  if the path ahead could be any harder
Rotting but expected to move onward
Astonishing
She wins at losing
And makes a shitty life seem beautiful
Navigate a bad hand with grace and tact
 still stays intact
just with glassy eyes

While she walks over the horizon
Say goodbye
No one will know if she's succeeded or realized

I could tell a happy ending but I never had the heart to lie
